A NON-refundable Deposit of $200.00 is mandatory to hold your space in the workshop. In the event of an unexpected situation, your deposit can be transferred towards a future workshop within a year of registration.
Classes and costs:
Birth Doula Workshop and Introduction to Childbirth class: $495.00 for all 3 days:
Birth Doula Workshop only: $400.00. (In order to attend the weekend workshop only, you need to be a Labor and Delivery nurse or Certified Childbirth Educator)
Introduction to childbirth workshop only: $150.00
Breastfeeding class for Doulas: $25.00. 3 hours, virtual
ICEA workshop: $400.00

Birth Doula Workshop information: This workshop is the full requirement and first step, towards DONA, Int. Birth Doula Certification. The process of certification begins AFTER the workshop and is an individual choice to become certified or not. You will be a "TRAINED BIRTH DOULA" at the end of the workshop!
Requirements before the workshop: Read: "Pregnancy, Childbirth and the Newborn" and "The Birth Partner" both by Penny Simkin.
Class times and format: Each day begins at 8:00 and ends between 5:30-6:00 p.m.
Friday intro class: this class covers the process of labor and delivery, hospital procedures, medical interventions, comfort skills, relaxation and breathing practice.
Weekend Birth Doula workshop: Prenatal support, business practices, hands on skills, positions for labor and delivery, challenges, certification information, comfort measures and MORE! A detailed handbook is given to each participant for both workshops.
ICEA Workshop: Each day runs 8:00-5:30 and includes details fo how to prepare the ICEA Certification exam, teaching practices, curriculum development, ICEA position and statements and teaching practice in front of your fellow students.
Breastfeeding students may bring a pump to provide if needed. Sorry, no babies at the workshop.
