Friday Introduction class will be virtual, (8-5) with the actual
2-day Doula training in person with safe precautions.

Nov. 6, 7, 8, 2020: Orange County in person, or Virtual TBD
Spokane/Coeur d'Alene, ID

A NON-Refundable Deposit is mandatory to hold your space in the workshop. In the event of an expected situation, your deposit can be transferred towards a future workshop within a year of registration.
Classes and costs:
* Birth Doula Workshop and Introduction to Childbirth class: $495.00 for all 3 days
* Birth Doula Workshop only: $400.00 (weekend portion)
* Introduction to Childbirth workshop only: $100.00
* Late fee (ie: signing up week of class:) $500.00
*ICEA Workshop: $400.00
A $200.00 non-refundable deposit is due WITH registration with the balance due at the workshop.

This workshop is the full requirement towards DONA, Int. Birth Doula Certification. The process of certification begins AFTER the workshop and your membership and application to DONA, International. The training is the FIRST step, so you are not certified after the workshop, but have begun the journey Towards certification. The process is fully discussed in the training as well as online at dona.org
Introduction to Childbirth and Birth Doula Workshop: Please read "The Birth Partner" prior to class.
Class format: Each day begins at 8:00 a.m. to approximately 6:00 p.m. and includes:
Friday: (Intro class): This class will be held virtually in the month prior to the Doula workshop and includes: Childbirth process, terminology, practices in hospitals and out of hospital births, medical interventions, comfort skills, breathing practice.
Weekend course: DONA, International information and certification, Prenatal Support and Doula Business, Challenges, Comfort Measures, Communication Skills and Hands on application of positions and comfort skills.
The participant will be given a detailed handbook, the ability to interact with others, questions and brainstorming, active participation in the learning process, and thorough understanding of the process and skills necessary.
Each day is 8:00-5:30 and includes details of how to prepare for the ICEA Certification exam, as well as demonstrating teaching skills in front of your fellow students, and the goals of learning as set by ICEA.
Breastfeeding students may bring a pump to provide milk for their newborns.
